Morning Routine rituals
Did you ever felt guilty because you think that you didn't accomplish all your goals for the day?
Do you hit the snooze button and then regret it when you realize that you are running late?
Well, I think that every one of us had experienced this at least one time (or more) in their lives.
I 've been my self on and off different morning routines, trying, sticking with it for weeks and then back again where I first started. It is frustrating especially when you have a lot going on in your life.
I work from 9 to 5 and working on side hustles outside my working hours, I am also a runner and I do have other hobbies that I want to maintain without going crazy. A morning routine is the only way that can keep me on track and accomplish more in my day. Use your morning to focus on the most important thing, You! waking up late or checking your emails or calendar first thing in the morning can only drain your energy and your good mood.
So without further ado here is the morning routine that worked for me the most, it may not work for you but it can help you get inspired.
- NO SNOOZING: You Snooze you lose
I think this is by far the very hard thing to do when it comes to starting a healthy morning routine. I lately begin to wake up at 5:30 am, and I can tell you it is very hard to skip the temptations to hit the snooze button. I 've come with different strategies to avoid falling back to sleep. I always put my phone away, usually on the other side of the room so that I can get up and turn it off, in that way I move my body so it's awake. I also keep a glass of water near my nightstand, so that I can rehydrate after the 8 hours drought, it helps wake up the body.
Another tip to stop hitting the snooze button is to go to bed early, which means for me at 10pm, so that I can have my 8-7 hours of sleep.
2. MAKE YOUR BED
Try to make your bed as soon as you wake up and that will be your first achievement of the day.
3. GRATITUDES
Write down 3 things you are grateful for and focus on the good in your life, you will be surprised that your mood will change and you will be more positive and joyful throughout your day.
4. JOURNAL

4. JOURNAL
Pick up your pen and sit down a bit to write what you have in your mind, what is bothering you, what do you want to achieve, spill it all on the paper and be very mindful while doing it. I try to write at least 10 minutes and believe me, it is very therapeutic and helps clear your mind.
5. MEDITATE
Sit down at least 10 minutes to meditate. I use guided meditation from the youtube channel of Jason Stephenson I find it very helpful. Meditation trains your mind to focus and redirect your thoughts. It develops your concentration, your awareness, and reduce your stress.
6. READ/ LISTEN TO A BOOK OR A PODCAST
Reading is very essential to me, and in order for me to find time for a read, I try to grab my book in the morning before heading to work, I read for roughly 20 minutes each morning. I am currently reading "The power of now" for Eckhart Tolle.

7. PREPARE YOUR MORNING THE NIGHT BEFORE
Preparing my morning routine the night before is key for having a productive day. I usually pick the outfit that I will be wearing the next day so that I minimize my decision fatigue in the morning. I pack my lunch as well, and I write down my goals and to-do list for the next day so that I can wake up with the intention that I m going to accomplish many things.
This is my morning routine, don't feel pressured to wake up early or to try to incorporate all of the following steps at once. Try to start small, if you are waking up at 7am trying to wake up at 6:30 am and in the extra 30 minutes that you got implement one of these habits. As I always say it is a trial and error process until you find what is best for you. I really hope these ideas would help you have more peaceful and happier mornings!
